Multi-Wing America announced that it has added more than 6,000 square feet of off-site warehouse space to accommodate the necessary inventory for its current orders for axial fans.

Vice President John Crowley

The new warehouse is located in a business park in Newbury, Ohio just minutes from the company’s manufacturing headquarters in Burton. The additional storage space allows Multi-Wing to stock more parts in the face of a steadily increasing demand dating back to the first quarter of 2010.As a manufacturer of custom engineered axial fans in the HVAC, refrigeration, and engine cooling markets, Multi-Wing America’s expansion is an outgrowth of the company’s popular engineering and service offerings, including expedited delivery.

“Our sustained increases in sales and production have created the opportunities that every business hopes for,” said Vice President of Purchasing John Crowley. ”We have warehouse space allocated in our headquarters and in an adjacent building that simply had to grow on pace with our axial fan orders. With the three large bays in the new warehouse, we will have approximately 12,000 square feet of storage off site in addition to our in-house capacity. The off-site facility is also linked to Tracker, our asset management software, so we have a seamless link that keeps production rolling. The warehouse staff scans the parts out of the inventory in Newbury, and our system updates in real time at the Burton headquarters,” Crowley said.

“The benefits of the new warehouse flow directly to our customers, because our increased capacity ensures the short lead times for all the axial fans that Multi-Wing is known for,” Crowley noted. “The Tracker system also helps keep costs under control, and our quick turnaround on custom axial fans is essential to our customers for two reasons. The most obvious benefit is that our ability to expedite an engineered fan in an emergency is vital in minimizing our customers’ down time. And from an administrative perspective, our ability to provide a custom product on short notice can reduce our customers’ inventory requirements and carrying costs,” Crowley said. “Something as simple as a new warehouse in Newbury creates significant added value for Multi-Wing customers straight down the line by keeping their people working while keeping their costs in check.”

Multi-Wing introduces the PressureMAX blade profile, a high pressure impeller designed specifically to help engine manufacturers meet the Tier 4/Stage III B Standards for off-highway diesel engine applications. The PressureMAX generates up to 20 percent more static pressure than standard airfoil fans. The PressureMAX also has virtually zero blade deflection, and its narrow axial depth makes it a perfect selection for tight installation spaces. Multi-Wing debuted the PressureMAX at the 2011 CONEXPO-ConAgg exhibition at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Held tri-annually, the show is the epicenter of new technologies, products and services across the construction and agricultural markets, with more than 140,000 attendees. Multi-Wing held a special demonstration at the show, detailing the research and development process that led to the PressureMAX launch. Among the attendees for the demonstration, Matt Rankin, Engineering Manager for AKG Thermal Systems, was impressed with the PressureMAX features. “We’re always looking for any incremental gain that we can achieve for increased performance requirements in the mobile and compressed air markets,” said Rankin. “And the PressureMAX’s ability to deliver 20 percent more static pressure in a compact cooling envelope will give us just the edge we need in those markets.”

Designed to satisfy the high heat rejection requirements that result from Tier 4, the PressureMAX blade profile is also 5-7 percent more efficient than most airfoil blade designs, saving horsepower and fuel. The PressureMAX’s high efficiency profile also reduces air flow turbulence across the blade, resulting in a lower noise signature. With a diameter range of 24.5 to 51 inches , the adjustable pitch PressureMAX is a glass reinforced polyamide fan available in 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12 and 16-blade configurations.

Multi-Wing has expanded its low-noise sickle range of fans with the new 7Z blade. The 7Z’s large blade surface produces the high static pressure necessary to help meet Tier 4 emissions standards in America and Stage III B limits for Mobile Nonroad Engines in Europe. With its shallow profile and low-noise, sickle design, the 7Z is tailor-made for off-highway heat exchangers, condensers, cooling towers and ventilation applications that often have demanding space restrictions.

The 7Z continues the success of Multi-Wing’s popular sickle series with a diameter range of 504-1029mm (20 to 40 inches). Using Multi-Wing’s heavy-duty Z hubs, the 7Z will be available in 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12 and 16-bladed configurations in glass-reinforced polypropylene and glass-reinforced polyamide. The narrow-profile 7Z delivers low-noise performance in tight spaces, and will be available to the global market on April 30, 2009.

Multi-Wing International has added the 10GL to our G series of fan blades. The 10GL in counter-clockwise rotation joins the Multi-Wing family of high-efficiency airfoil fan blades, with a diameter range of 48 to 108 inches. These light-weight, durable blades create less wear on major drive components which make the 10GL the perfect solution for rugged industrial applications from power generation to the oil and gas industries. The 10GL’s true airfoil design means greater airflow and less noise in a blade that is one-third the weight of similar blades on the market today.

The 10GL is designed with durable, gravity cast aluminum hubs, and the blades are adjustable in one-degree increments. For superior result in applications requiring large fans, the 10GL provides heavy-duty performance at a fraction of the weight.
